Best Christmas gift's ever!

I got really spoiled for Christmas this year. My husband will help me to make one of my fashion dreams come true (love him so much!). I can't wait for next week when we will get it.
I love getting workout stuff because it makes going to the gym so much more exciting :-). So my mother-in-law know's me quite well it looks like because she got me this two Lululemon pants.
And then I got this beautiful bracelets from my younger sister. Love them!!! Now I have my motivation always with me.

Friday motivation!

I am heading back to South Carolina today. I will spend my day travelling and keeping myself busy reading FitnessRx, Oxygen and planning my food for the next few days. I definitely need to get back to my clean eating and exercising. This week in Vancouver I definitely indulged way more then I normally do and wasn't very active. Did I eat and drink too much? Yes! Did I enjoy it? Of course! But now it is time to get back on track and I look forward to it!

Next step...

Christmas is over and Boxing Day is here. In a few days it will be New Years Eve and we end one year and start a new one. I am not a person who makes New Year's Resolutions but I always make a plan. Every year I try to think about things I want to accomplish for the next year and how I will do that. It doesn't matter what it is...education, relationships, health or fitness.
Especially for my fitness goals it helps me to know what my next few steps will be so I have a plan and the chance to reach my goal is higher this way.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

We made it to Vancouver after two days of traveling. We got stuck in Seattle and lost a whole day. Oh well….we are here and enjoy our time with my husbands family, good food and of course some awesome shopping :-).

We went for a run yesterday and today to stay active. We did sprints and back home squats, lunges and pushups. This hopefully will help me to not gain any weight. Do you stay active over the next few days?
I wish you all  a wonderful Merry Christmas with your family's and friends! Enjoy this time and don't beat yourself up if you allow yourself a little more treats than usual :-). I can't wait for our Turkey meal tomorrow and of course Pumpkin pie :-)!

Happy Friday!

I am on my way to the airport. We were super busy the last two weeks and time just flew by. Can't believe Christmas is here in a few days.

I got up at 5 a.m. today so I could go to the gym before we would leave and spend the whole day traveling :-(. But because of my workout I know I will have a great day!

After workout snack

Today after my workout I made myself my new discovered coconut protein banana shake (so good), a cup of green tea and a gluten free rice cracker with all natural peanut butter, low sugar jam and banana's on top. Super yummy!

The protein shake I started making after our honeymoon. We always had a shake at the pool bar with banana and coconut and it was so good. You take:

1 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1/3 - 1/2 Banana
1 scoop of vanilla whey protein powder
ice
1-3 tablespoons of unsweetened coconut flakes

I sprinkled some cinnamon in mine too.

I always schedule my workouts like a meeting and I plan my workouts out at the beginning of the week. I know exactly what I will do when I walk into the gym. This way I am prepared. I love working out and that is why I also get up early before work because that is my "ME TIME" and it makes me happy. What makes you happy?

Crazy weekend!

Weekends always go by way too fast and this weekend felt especially short because I was hungover on Sunday ;-). We had a fun night out on Saturday night at a Mad Men Party and I had a little bit to drink. I am not a big drinker at all and I rarely have more then two glasses of wine and most weekends I do not drink at all.
On Sunday we slept in and I did something else that almost never happens (maybe once or twice a year)..….we went to McDonalds. It was good. A treat I don't allow myself a lot and I don't want to because I do prefer healthy food over fast food but life happens. The rest of the day I ate very clean and I just had a salad for dinner. I also had the day off exercising but took my dog for three nice long walks.
I did some prep cooking today too. I made some chicken, boiled eggs and prepared some overnight oats but that is it. We have four days left before we are heading to Vancouver for Christmas. I will be very strict again during the week, work out hard and I will allow myself some treats again on the weekend.

The Christmas Countdown begins

We are exactly ten days out :-) till Christmas eve. I love Christmas time! The decorations, the music (just not weeks before!), Turkey dinner, seeing family and giving gifts.

We have one family in Switzerland and one family in Vancouver, BC Canada so we try to travel one year to one side of the family and the next year to the other side of the family. This year we will fly to Vancouver.
Most of my shopping is already done and the gifts for Switzerland arrived already there. I try to plan ahead of time so I am sure our gifts arrive in time and sending the packets won't break the bank. But today we are going shopping (hopefully the last time) before we are heading to Vancouver.

Are you done with your Christmas shopping?

Tonight we are going to a Mad Men Party :-). I am excited! There are always a lot of events at the end of the year. Dinner's out, parties and cookies everywhere. My plan is for the holidays that I don't want to gain weight and just stay the way I am right now. So I do more cardio then I normally do and lift less weights but with more reps. I also eat less carbs during the week because I know I have events coming up on the weekend where I will enjoy myself. In January I will begin to built muscle again because I would like to grow a little bit more and get more definition but for now I just enjoy Christmas Time!

Are you happy?

During my evening walk last night I started thinking about the last year. What happened and where I am now. So many things happened in 2013!
A year ago I wasn't in a good place because I just lost my dad. That was the hardest time in my life. 

But looking at the last few months put a smile on my face because I am happy! I like my work, I LOVE my husband and I love being married, we went on an amazing honeymoon, I have the cutest dog in this world lol, I have a great family and friends who support me and with almost 30 years old I start to finally be comfortable with myself.
Am I where I want to be? No, but I am closer then I was at the beginning of this year. I know that I will change some things up beginning of 2014 and I am excited about it. I will also keep working on some of my dreams which I will share with you later on.

Prep-Tuesday

We were busy on the weekend with Christmas Party, getting everything organized around the house and going to the vet with my dog :-( so I didn't prepare any food.
That is why I stood in the kitchen for almost two hours last night after work and made a clean turkey chili (my husband's wish), sweet potatoes, boiled some eggs and prepared overnight oats.
We had Chili with sweet potatoes mixed for dinner. I topped mine with greek yogurt instead of sour cream…yummy! I am keeping my meals clean during the week so I can have a treat on the weekend.
